And then it rained

Hard times fallen on my garden. It is like a sauna, because when it rains, it rains so much that the moisture just seems to have to come back up into the air.
Grass is brown cracked and moldy. But just before the weather turned for the worse, this daylily became gloriously alive, and gave me this blossom.

Then, even though they were around the pond, the black eyed susans (rudbeckia hirta) right now are stunted, and sort of damaged. Their petals have evidence of heavy rain, as you will see.
